Just went through and tagged all thesis-related posts. Tumblr is showing them to me as though they were just posted for the first time. Hopefully all my followers didn’t just get spammed. If you did, sorry! Definitely won’t happen again.

"Thesis mode" →
I’m working on a thesis project for my communication design master’s degree; it’s on building a community/storytelling website to help everyone rethink their perceptions of queer people. It’s still in the development stages, but I’m already really happy with where it’s heading. The blog post I’ve linked to explains a little more about the project and how...

New Yorker Magazine Refuses to Print the Word... →
News article from The Bilerico Project, an LGBTQ blog which is not one I’d heard of before (h/t @queerscholar). I think a word like “refuse” is a bit strong when the New Yorker hasn’t expressly addressed the matter itself, but it’s interesting that this happened either way. I thought this was an eloquent wording of the distinction, in a letter from Cassie Peterson,...

Mark Bittman, "OMG: McDonald’s Does the Right... →
“McDonald’s Will Phase Out Gestation Crates” in their pork supply. The effect on the industry will be huge, because in the world of big-time meat supply, there are two kinds of producers: those who sell to McDonald’s and those wish they could. When, in 1999, McDonald’s requested that its suppliers give caged hens 72 square inches of space instead of 48 (72 is still smaller than...

Michael Warner, "Queer and Then?" →
I don’t have a particular quote to share. Anyway the whole article is a must-read. It’s like a month old: I kept getting sidetracked from finishing reading it. Don’t be like me. Read it soon!
