This Towleroad post quotes the AP as saying, “That vote was hailed as historic by the United States, European countries and others […],” which is quite rich coming from a US that still kills its convicts (not to mention innocents in plenty of countries) for all sorts of reasons, and which still discriminates against its LGBT and queer citizens in basically whatever situation it likes.

New Yorker Magazine Refuses to Print the Word... →
News article from The Bilerico Project, an LGBTQ blog which is not one I’d heard of before (h/t @queerscholar). I think a word like “refuse” is a bit strong when the New Yorker hasn’t expressly addressed the matter itself, but it’s interesting that this happened either way.
